As everyone waits, somewhat patiently, for news of the Province reopening, GCGH wanted to provide our members with an update.

I think it’s safe to say that we do not expect any return to traditional hockey in the near future. However, some modified hockey will be back. This will likely look like what we experienced in the fall, groups of 10 or 25 based on how the city is doing and what colour-coding we are in. Our plan is to expand the current hockey season until mid-April. Further details will be communicated once we know when we can get back on the ice.

At least now the canal is open and kids have returned to school. Thankfully, Ottawa is doing better and that gives us a glimmer of hope that we might be able to return to practices and perhaps even back to scrimmages.

So, please follow the stay-at-home orders in order for our girls to return to the ice ASAP.
