Hannah Saunders & Team Lebanon

On December 28th and 29th, 2019, our very own Hannah Saunders, goalie from the GCGH Lady Grads Intermediate AA program, had the honor to be part of the National Lebanese Women’s Hockey team playing in their first ever games as an International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) member.
In Team Lebanon’s first game, which was featured on Rogers Hometown Hockey, Hannah got the start in net and played two clean shutout periods against the Whitby Wolves MAA team. She was switched out for the third period with the game finishing in a 1-1 final score.

In the second game, Team Lebanon played the Etobicoke Dolphins MAA team where Hannah was put in net for the third period holding the Dolphins scoreless in a 5-2 win.

The Lebanese Ice Hockey Federation (also known as the LIHF) is the governing body overseeing the Lebanese Local and international Ice Hockey teams attained official IIHF membership this September 2019 and was assigned by the IIHF to Hockey Canada as it’s IIHF MENTOR.
