It is with great pleasure that the Gloucester Cumberland Girls Hockey Association recognizes their EO Stars Intermediate AA graduates for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
The East Ottawa (EO) Stars High Performance Teams were established to offer opportunities within the eastern district of Ottawa and area to participate at the highest level of “AA” hockey. More specifically it will appeal to young ladies wanting to play hockey at the very highest level, against national and international competition.
Teams at the U-22AA play approximately 35-40 games across the province. U-15 & U-18 AA - 20 ODWHA league games. Exhibition games throughout the season, some of which may be against college/university teams, NCWHL & OWHA - Eastern Playoffs and OWHA Playdowns.
Typically, a player can expect up to 2 practices per week and 2 sessions on and off ice for conditioning purposes. Expect to play in seven to ten tournaments, six to eight of which may be out of town, plus Provincials mid-April if qualify in regional play downs.
Each player can expect additional costs and therefore can expect to seek sponsors, fundraise, and or collect additional fees from parents to cover additional ice time, tournaments, and other team costs that are not covered by registration fees. Parents/players cover their own costs associated with travel, accommodations and food when away from home. There are tryout fees.
EO Stars team tryouts are typically held in April of each year.
