We want to update you on the upcoming tryout portion of our team selection process and assure you that our team has been working tirelessly to finalize the schedule. This year has presented unique challenges due to two key factors:
Two City of Ottawa ice pads in the East end will be closed for maintenance in April, limiting ice availability—especially with boys' minor hockey tryouts also taking place in the spring.
The Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) does not permit "open" tryouts before April 21st.
Despite these obstacles, we remain committed to ensuring a fair and efficient process. While we continue working out the details, we wanted to share what we do know so far:
Internal evaluations will begin the week of April 15th, starting with U18—our largest cohort. These sessions will primarily consist of scrimmages.
Open tryouts for AA will likely begin on April 21st, with other levels following shortly after.
Our aim is to have tryouts completed by May 10th, however, that may change. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these scheduling challenges. Further details, including specific dates and times, will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
